How to Keep Your Skin Healthy and Glowing! 5 Tips for Maintaining Radiant Facial Skin

Guest Post by Mor Ben David,

I met Mor through a lifestyle photoshoot we did for the facial products she creates and sells.

In the process leading up to the shoot, when I asked her to describe what was important for her to convey in the photos—what is most significant to her regarding the facial products?—and after trying her products and undergoing a set of facial treatments with her,

I knew I had to ask her for the most important tips she believes in for truly maintaining our facial skin, so I could share them with you all, right here!

5 Tips for Maintaining Healthy and Glowing Skin!

In this post, Mor has gathered important and practical tips for successfully maintaining healthy, nourished, and balanced facial skin.

Enjoy! 🙂

As a nutrition consultant for facial skin and a mind-body therapist, I understand how critical the connection between our body and mind is for the results we see and experience.

Our facial skin serves as a sort of business card; when we go through a crisis or difficult period, it immediately reflects on our skin. But why is that?

The skin, hair, and nails are systems in the body that receive the least vitamins and minerals during stress because they are not considered essential systems like the nervous or digestive systems, for example.

During stressful or high-pressure moments, the more vital systems consume vitamins and minerals, leaving the skin system deficient. Therefore, after a challenging period, we often experience hair loss, and our skin may appear saggy or, conversely, break out in blemishes.

Additionally, one of the most significant influences on our facial skin is the nutrition we provide to our bodies. Nutrition directly impacts our facial skin and its appearance.

So how do we take care of it? Here are some important tips for maintaining our facial skin!

#1 Skin Tip : Drink Water!

Starting off, drinking water is not just my first tip; it has such a deep and significant impact. At the same time, it’s an incredibly easy habit to implement, and it’s a shame that it’s often overlooked by many people due to a lack of understanding, knowledge, or attention to this matter.

Drink water every day, and a lot of it—at least 2 liters a day! Water cleanses our skin in general, and in our case, specifically the facial skin. It provides internal hydration, helping the skin become much more radiant and luminous

Skin Tip #2: Cutting Empty Carbohydrates

No. 1 Tip for Anti-Aging!!

Empty carbohydrates and sugars have become an integral part of our fast-eating habits today. They seemingly give us a quick feeling of fullness and raise our sugar levels and “alertness” in the middle of a busy day or workday when we don’t have time to think too much about food.

What we’re actually doing when our diet is rich in empty carbohydrates and sugars—beyond the additional damage it causes to our bodies, which we won’t discuss here right now—is that it also creates wrinkles in our facial skin and affects skin aging!

Therefore, even if you don’t completely eliminate carbohydrates from your diet, I highly recommend reducing them as much as possible and minimizing the amount of carbohydrates and sugars in your daily diet and eating habits!

Skincare Tip #3: Fruits, Vegetables, Legumes, and Whole Grains

To add vitamins and minerals—lots of them!—to your facial skin naturally and simply, include a fruit and 2-3 vegetables and legumes in your daily diet that are packed with vitamins and minerals to nourish your skin from the inside out.

Find your own fun and easy way to incorporate this, whether as part of a meal, as a snack between meals, in a salad, or just as they are. The main thing is to make it a daily habit, and the more consistent you are, the more your skin will improve!

Skin Tip #4: Vitamin C Supplement

Vitamin C helps build collagen and really saves your skin during stressful times.

It’s a supplement I highly recommend to anyone who cares about maintaining and improving the appearance of their facial skin

Skin Tip #5: Cut Out Dairy Products!

In recent years, you must have noticed that this has become more and more prevalent in people’s awareness, and indeed, many people now consume dairy products almost daily, or at least not as much as we did a few years ago…

There are several reasons why people are consuming less and less dairy today, and there are quite a few good, even excellent, alternatives to dairy products available.

The reason I want to mention here, about facial skin, is the internal inflammation that dairy products can cause, which fills our faces with blemishes, much like acne. Therefore, reducing dairy products in your diet can greatly help balance the inflammation in your facial skin and allow for internal cleansing of the skin

Before I finish, I want to emphasize a point I started with, and I believe the most important thing is the awareness that our mind is directly connected to our body! Everything you do for your mind and peace—even just taking specific short moments during the day—will impact the appearance of your facial skin! Whether it’s exercising, meditating, or even a therapy session to express and release your inner feelings, this will directly reflect on your facial skin.

In conclusion,

I truly believe that only one thing won’t give you the results you’re really looking for…

For your skin to be free of inflammation, and looking good, smooth, and radiant, it will always require a combination of the three things I find most important:

your nutrition, your mind, and the cleansing and nourishment of your skin from the outside!
